Ok, this one is for the ladies but you fellas can stick around for some pointers as well (wink wink!!!) So it's no secret that the big V-Day is not even a full day away, and standing amidst an ever flowing sea of red and pink wares can seem a bit overwhelming. Especially if you're a last minute shopper like myself. However there is one gift that always stands out above all the rest, and that is jewelry. If you're still not for sure exactly what kind o get , here are a few basic tips in making that gorgeous selection.
Pick One Specific Category
Sometimes this can be a little bit challenging considering there are so many categories of jewelry such as rings, bracelets, earrings etc. Some people might feel compelled to purchase sets which is ok, but if your not for sure as to which set to choose you'll wind up stuck for sure. It is always best to start by picking one category, then gin from there.
Consider Personal Style
Another very important factor to consider when making a jewelry purchase is the recipient's personal style. For some there is a misconception that the look of a jewelry piece has to be ostentatious. Something not befitting a person with a more conservative taste in dress. This is simply not true. There are a plethora of motifs for all types of recipients. For example, if the recipient works in the corporate world, something as simple as a standard gold bracelet or strand of pearls would make a great business attire statement.
Be Mindful Of Hobbies
I will never forget when I was around 14 years old receiving one of the coolest gifts I ever had. A teddy bear journal. Ok so you're probably wondering "Huh?', well this was a gift from a very special friend and mentor who was well aware of my love for both writing and teddy bears. Think on every time you went gift shopping, and was asked by a sales rep "What does he/she like?" The same formula applies to jewelry shopping. Does he or she collect time pieces, adores sports, is a fashionista or into art. This will give you a guide on what jewelry pieces are right for them.
Consider Symbolism & Personalization
Finally, nothing makes a jewelry piece all the more special than the personalization and symbolism behind it. One of the most popular are engagement and wedding ring engravings. Most jewelry stores will offer to have this done at little to no cost to the customer depending on the style , space, wording etc. This is a very special and tender way to show the one your love how much you love them by making their jewelry piece uniquely their own. The only drawback is that once the engraving has been set, most places will not accept returns.
In short, the hustle and bustle of Valentin's Day doesn't have to make your hair fall out. The best gifts are born from simplicity, and most importantly from the heart. Until next time lovelies, have a happy and fabulous Valentine's Day!!!!
