Every since I was little, I have always been enamored with everything whimsical. My absolute favorite time of the day is in the early morning between 4 and 5:30 am when the sky is at it's finest. Gazing at the still starry and moonlit sky, I begin to count my blessings while drinking in the tranquil beauty of the moment. Never would I have imagined that I would experience this same level of enchantment any other time until I attended this years West 18th Street Fashion Show this past weekend.

This year's annual outdoor fashion event held on June 14th had it all. From the gorgeous sunset over Kansas City and warm breeze; to the ambient colored lighting against an ethereal floral moon backdrop; it was clear why this year's even was deserving of the theme Ceremonial Summer. However despite the serene overtones, it was not at all lost to my friend and I the real reason we were there; to see some amazing fashion! At the West 18th Street Fashion Show there were no shortage of unique and interesting styles from this year's round of local designers.
Ok, so normally when one thinks of AstroTurf, the words "football field" comes to mind. Well at least for me anyway (I was a high school cheerleader). So you can imagine my amazement when this AstroTurf crop top paired with a soft silk skirt by Emily Kenyon made it's way down the runway.

What I really loved about these styles from Amatoria Clothing, is the simplicity and elegance of her line of special occasion wear.

Fresh and breezy would be the best way to describe the looks from Tara Light.
Sleek and fresh lines were the primary concept for designer Margie Hogue's 2014 Spring ensembles. This basic jumpsuit is a perfect transitional outfit for an effortless office - to - dinner look.

Though it was my first time attending; I was extremely impressed with this year's round of designers. For me, all of the design concept truly embodied the spirit of Ceremonial Summer. Needless to say, West 18th Street Fashion Show left both my friend and I in complete awe, and already looking forward to what next year's showcase have to offer. Til next time lovelies, stay fabulous!!!
