Pick Your PoutWhen it comes to achieving that perfect pout, most ladies feel that the best alternative is getting lip injections. Though effective in most cases, this procedure is not only costly, but very risky. Before scheduling that meeting with Mr. Needle, give these quick lip tricks a try. Want Em' Bigger? If you have a favorite lipstick, matching liner, and clear lip gloss then you already have the basic tools you need to make your lips look bigger. The key lies within the placement of the lip liner. Starting at the bow (top middle portion of the lip), begin lining slightly off the edge of the lip line from corner to corner. Apply lipstick on both the inside of the line and top of the line. For best results use a lipstick with either a satin or subtle sheen finish. To create a maximum full pout look, apply a light coat of clear shimmer lip gloss using a disposable flocked lip color applicator. Make Em' SmallerNow if your looking to slightly minimize the size of your pout, go the opposite route by applying the lip liner inside and slightly under the lip line from corner to corner. When applying your lipstick, apply inside the line only. To maximize your minimization look, use a lipstick with a matte finish. So no matter what lip colors you chose, remember these two important tips for creating a re-size illusion. Lining on and outside the line then follow with high shine finishes for a plumped full look. Line inside the line, and follow with a matte finish for a reduced size look. If you didn't know, know you know!!! Till next time, Stay Fabulous!!! Photos taken by Mekaile Renee' Turner

Continuing with part two of my Radiant Orchid series, I will demonstrate three makeup looks that are both easy and flawless. The Prime and Prep Whenever I'm applying eye makeup I find that a good eye primer and concealer are key in maximizing the staying power of the makeup as well as brightening the eye ares. M. Renee's Closet © 2014 What's up everyone!!! I hope you all have had an awesome week, and ready to take charge of the weekend! I am pleased to announce the introduction of my new sub-series entitled "If You Don't Know, Now You Know" which will feature quick tips, facts, news and other fun things. I hope you will check it out. Stay fabulous!!!
Hey everyone!!! I'm back and if your like me, ready to kick off spring with a bang! As we all know in the wonderful universe that is fashion, springtime brings about a whole new concept of textures, design and of course colors. Last year in December of 2013 Pantone, the world's leading authority on everything color announced Radiant Orchid as Color of the Year for 2014. (Pantone Reveals Color of the Year for 2014. 2014. Web. 6 April 2014. <http://www.pantone.com>) Radiant Orchid, a lavish mixture of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones is already making it's presence known in multiple facets of fashion and lifestyle. In my three part series "Spruce Up Your Spring with Radiant Orchid" I will share with you some easy tips on wardrobe, makeup and entertaining using this magnificent color of the year without breaking the bank. Ready, get set, let's spring!!! Long before I could walk I had a love for shopping. Come to think of it I'm pretty sure my very first words were "charge it!" LOL!!! My two favorite times of the year were Back-To-School, and Christmas, because it meant a whole new wardrobe. Although I seriously adore designer fashion (and believe me the price is well worth it.), I sometimes indulge in purchasing top name brands at affordable prices. In the past I have visited stores such as Plato's Closet, and Ditto, but was a little less than impressed with the "quality" of the merchandise. Ready to completely give up on the whole consignment shopping thing , I saw a commercial on television for a consignment store called Clothes Mentor located in Overland Park, KS. I decided to check it out, and upon arrival I was immediately amazed by the overall atmosphere as well as the organization of the store. Overall I found Clothes Mentor to be an excellent place to find awesome spring apparel including everything Radiant Orchid. The Looks Being the natural born shopper that I am, it didn't take me long to find and put together three amazing looks for the day using the new color trend. Usually when most people think of trending colors, they assume this to mean wearing it from head-to-toe in a single ensemble. However by doing so you pretty much end up looking like one monochromatic bore. Remember ladies this only worked for one individual, and her name is Barbie. Radiant CasualThis ensemble has both fashion and comfort in mind for those leisurely weekends shopping, lunch with the girls, or an early matinee with the beau. Top: New York & Company - $7.00 Jeans: Chico's - $22.00 Backpack Purse: Tignanello - $26.00 Ballet Flats: Rock & Republic - $20.00 Tarnished Bead Necklace - $8.00 Tarnished Bangle - $5.00 Clothes Mentor Total - $88.00 Department Store Total - $323.00 - $379.00 Radiant Working GalI'm going to go on record by saying this. Basic suits, and head-to-toe blacks and browns suck. There I said it. Even when I worked for a bank, I made it my mission to stand out to clients by wearing more colorful tops, dresses, and my favorite MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick. Nowadays most office settings are more range friendly when it comes to business casual styles, and this stunner by Tahari ASL clearly shows that range through marbled detailing with hints of Radiant Orchid. With matching tech accessories you won't just command the boardroom, you'll own it! Dress: Tahari ASL - $25.00 Platform Pumps: Calvin Klein - $20.00 Clutch Purse: Daisy Fuentes - $7.00 Faux Stone Necklace - $8.00 Tablet Case: Ted Baker - $25.00 Clothes Mentor Total - $85.00 Department Store Total - $180.00 - $570.00 Radiant Night OutOf all the colors out there, nothing says elegance and glamour like orchid. This sheath cocktail dress by Tadashi Shoji with purple stone jewelry, and stunner heels by Rebecca Minkoff is sure to turn heads on your next night on the town. Dress: Tadashi Shoji - $25.00 Clutch Purse: Daisy Fuentes - $7.00 Sandal Pumps: Rebecca Minkoff - $34.00 Stone & Silver Earrings: - $3.00 Coin & Stone Bracelet: - $4.00 Clothes Mentor Total - $73.00 Department Store Total - $370.00 - $770.00 (Note: Total not including clutch purse.) Grand Total for All: $246.00 By the end of my trip, I felt confident that Clothes Mentor will be the latest on my list of go-to shops for designer fashions on a budget. Especially for everything Radiant Orchid. I hope you will love it too! Until next time, stay fabulous!!!
