Mekaile Renee' Turner is a Kansas City based designer, blogger, and stylist with a love for all things unique. Her love of fashion was first sparked by watching her grandmother mend curtains on her sewing machine when she was a little girl. Mekaile learned to hand stitch when she was just seven years old, and as she grew older began doing fashion illustrations in her spare time. After graduating from F.L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 2003, Mekaile went on to study Fashion Design at Kansas State University, and Fashion Marketing at The Art Institutes International Kansas City in Lenexa, Kansas. In 2013 a fellow classmate's senior project inspired Mekaile to create her fashion and lifestyle blog M. Renee's Closet, which highlights local design, fashion and art entertainment in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. She has featured Kansas City Fashion Week, West 18th Street Fashion Show, as well as independent designers on her blog. In addition to blogging, Mekaile is also an instructor/style coach for EarKandie Modeling Academy in Kansas City, MO, Garment Manufacturing Intern for KC Sewing Company, and a member of Fashion Group International Kansas City. She attributes all that she has by the mercy of God's grace, and support from her loving grandmother. In her spare time she enjoys music, spending time with her grandmother and spoiling her cat Boots.
